I've occasionally flipped and spot read Michael Pollan's books. I need to sit down and give them some firm attention though. I do find that the more aware I am, the more moderated my food intake becomes. It's not so much guilt as second thoughts. I pause now where I used to just dive in, which I don't think is a bad thing. Certainly gives you quite a bit to think about. If you enjoy reading about this issue, look for books by Michael Pollan. "The Omnivore's Dilemma" is particularly apt to this discussion. I don't get completely crazy with dissecting every food choice and do occasionally indulge in an imported product. It all comes down to awareness and moderation. If most of your food is local, unprocessed, and eco-sensitive don't feel too guilty over the occasional indulgence. I love your blog! Your bento are so elegant and beautifully photographed!
